Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA)

Up to A$9,000 p.a. available to support your postgraduate research.

What is it?

The AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA) consists of a A$9,000 per annum stipend (newly increased as of 1st July 2023) given to students studying their PhD, or Masters by Research, at an AINSE Member University. 

The Award also provides additional funding to support students travelling to ANSTO facilities for the purposes of their research.

Am I eligible?

Eligible students will be enrolled in an postgraduate research degree at an AINSE Member University and receiving an RTP scholarship or equivalent.

The research project must require the use of ANSTO’s facilities and expertise.

How do I apply?

To apply for the PGRA Scholarship, contact your AINSE Councillor and establish a connection with an appropriate ANSTO co-supervisor on the instrument you will be using for your research.

You must complete the application form using our online application portal prior to the application deadline.
