AINSE Postgraduate Orientation Week:
Nuclear Science Week, 20-22 October 2026

Coinciding with international Nuclear Science Week celebrations, AINSE Postgraduate Orientation Week (O’Week) is an online event designed to connect emerging researchers from across Australia and New Zealand with the people, facilities, and opportunities shaping the future of nuclear-enabled science.

Held from 20 to 22 October 2026, O’Week welcomes new AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA) scholars, while also providing postgraduate students interested in applying for 2027 AINSE scholarships with valuable insights into research opportunities supported by ANSTO’s world-class facilities.

Current AINSE scholars will participate in a dedicated three-day program (20-22 October) featuring professional development workshops, networking activities, and presentations from ANSTO researchers and AINSE alumni.

Prospective scholarship applicants are invited to join a two-day program (21-22 October) focused on exploring research opportunities at ANSTO, learning about AINSE funding schemes, and how to develop competitive scholarship applications.

Whether you’ve recently received an AINSE scholarship or are considering applying for one, O’Week is the perfect opportunity to expand your network, explore cutting-edge research pathways, and learn how AINSE can support your research journey.

Invitations will be sent directly to all new PGRA scholars. Those not currently an AINSE scholar but who are interested are required to fill out an Expression of Interest on the AINSE Portal.
