Residential Student Scholarship (RSS)

Up to A$8,250 p.a. plus travel and accommodation allowance.

What is it?

The Residential Student Scholarship (RSS) is for students who will need to stay at ANSTO facilities for a period averaging no less than 6 months per year.

The RSS comprises an A$8,250 stipend (newly-increased as of 1 July 2021) and A$5,000 travel support per annum.

Am I eligible?

Eligible students will be enrolled in an postgraduate research degree at an AINSE Member University and receiving an APA/RTP scholarship or equivalent.

The research project must require the use of ANSTO’s facilities and expertise for an average of 6 months per year.

How do I apply?

To apply for the RSS Scholarship, contact your AINSE Councillor and establish a connection with an appropriate ANSTO co-supervisor on the instrument you will be using for your research. 

You must submit your Expression of Interest to prior to the submission deadline.
