Residential Student Scholarship (RSS)

Up to A$9,000 p.a. plus travel and accommodation allowance.

What is it?

The Residential Student Scholarship (RSS) is for Ph.D. students who will need to stay at ANSTO facilities for a period averaging no less than 6 months per year.

The RSS comprises an A$9,000 stipend (newly-increased as of 1 July 2023) and up to A$5,000 travel support per annum.

Am I eligible?

Eligible students will be enrolled in a Ph.D. at an AINSE Member University and receiving an RTP scholarship or equivalent.

The research project must require the use of ANSTO’s facilities and expertise for an minimum of 6 months per year on average.

How do I apply?

To apply for the RSS Scholarship, contact your AINSE Member Representative and establish a connection with an appropriate ANSTO co-supervisor on the instrument you will be using for your research. 

You must complete the application form using our online application portal prior to the application deadline.
