Residential Student Scholarship (RSS)

Annual Package:
A$7,500 stipend per annum.
Up to A$5,000 travel and accommodation allowance per annum.

AINSE Limited is offering top-up Residential Student Scholarships to high-quality students who are enrolled in a PhD at an AINSE Member University.

Candidates for the AINSE Residential Student Scholarships must be:

First-year PhD students holding an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) / Research Training Program (RTP) or equivalent peer-reviewed scholarship

AND

Students whose PhD project topic closely aligns with any of the strategic focus areas for ANSTO’s research programmes:

  • The Environment
  • Human Health
  • Nuclear Fuel Cycle

In addition, opportunities may also exist for postgraduate students interested in contracted research and industrial engagement projects in the defence industry area, and for postgraduate students interested in fusion research that aligns with ANSTO and ITER activities.

AND

Students who are available to spend a significant period of time at an ANSTO facility (at Lucas Heights, Camperdown and/or Clayton) for an average of six months or more per year (can be as a single block of time or as separate visitations).

Please Note: Current AINSE PGRA students awarded this scholarship would relinquish the AINSE PGRA.
