Dr Andrew Nelson an instrument scientist for Platypus, the neutron reflectometer.
His main interests lie in the soft condensed matter area, specifically the interactions of polymers and surfactants with interfaces/colloidal systems - as studied by Neutron Reflectometry and Small-Angle Neutron Scattering
Qualifications and achievements
- He has been responsible for building a successful user program on the HIFAR Neutron Reflectometer since 2003, before transferring focus to Platypus
- Andrew Nelson received a MSci and his Ph.D. in soft condensed matter from the University of Bristol.
